1878 – R.E.B. Crompton & Co. established, Chelmsford, UK
Pioneers in electrical equipment and lighting, founded by Colonel Rookes Evelyn Bell Crompton.
1904 – Brook Motors founded, Huddersfield, UK
Specialised in producing AC motors under the leadership of Ernest Brook.
Building a British Motor Legacy
1927 – Crompton merges with F. & A. E. Parkinson Ltd → Crompton Parkinson
Combined expertise in motors and electrical systems to form a major British electrical company.
Late 1960s/1970 – Brook Motors acquired by Hawker Siddeley
Bringing the Huddersfield-based motor specialist under a larger engineering group.
1973–1974 – Formation of Brook Crompton Parkinson Motors
Merged Brook Motors and Crompton Parkinson, creating the foundation for the modern business.
Expanding the Family
1980s – Newman Electric Motors joins the group
