Rewinds & Repairs
Bradford Armature Winding Company has been in operation since 1919 and from the very beginning we have always had a strong focus on Electric Motors. Our technical engineers can repair, overhaul, modify, life-extend, rewind all types of motors including both AC and DC. BAWCO is an approved Brook Crompton Motor Centre carrying significant stocks of both safe and hazardous area electric motors while also having extensive knowledge on how to repair, rewind and life-extend motors from Brook Crompton and all other manufacturers.
The Bawco repair facility is managed and staffed by a dedicated team of experienced and knowledgeable engineers. Our motor repair capabilities are extensive and enable us to carry out overhauls and rewinds to a vast range of motors:
- AC or DC
- Fractional HP to large industrial
- Single or multi speed
- Safe or hazardous area
- Alternators and generators.
Our engineers have the knowledge and abilities to work on motors which are involved in many different sectors including:
- Engineering to pharmaceutical
- Food processing to quarrying
- Lifts and elevators to power generation
- Air handling to chemical manufacturing
A selected number of staff are qualified, via the AEMT training scheme, to carry out repairs to hazardous area motors. True to the company name, we excel in the repair of DC motors.
We repair all types of pumping equipment from fractional horsepower coolant pumps to large submersible pumps.
We also refurbish and recondition all types and sizes of gearboxes.
All repairs are fitted, when availability permits, with SKF bearings.
All repair work is tested fully and a complete report is created with records logged and archived.
The latest SKF Baker 4000v AWAIV4 computerised test equipment is used and is available for on-site testing also.
We are able to collect & return jobs using our own fleet of vehicles. Our 5 tonne crane enables us to handle the largest industrial motors.

Electric Motors
